Catechumen and Inquirers’ Class

Catechumen and inquirers’ class meets on Tuesday evenings from 7:00 – 8:15pm for anyone interested in learning about Orthodox Christianity. Attendees range from those exploring the basics of the Faith to those who want to be received into the Church (catechumens), either by Baptism or Chrismation.

Currently, the class covers two broad areas — what we believe and how we pray. The first follows the Nicene Creed to reveal the essentials of the Faith – the Trinity, the Incarnation of Christ, His Passion, Creation, the nature of the Church. and God’s mercy to man through the sacraments. The second area of prayer includes personal and corporate prayer, the Lord’s prayer, morality, the sacraments of the Church, worship, fasting, the Church calendar and more.

Additional meeting times are sometimes scheduled. All are welcome, from members to the newest visitors to the Church. Check with the church office to make sure no calendar conflicts have preempted the class.
